Through the Eyes of
Our Teachers

It takes a big heart to shape young lives.

What our teachers bring into class cannot be merely logged in numbers and grades — they are evidenced in the 5-year-old who talks about global cities, the 10-year-old who discusses technology or the 15-year-old who suggests how we can live more environmentally-friendly lives.

Providing the best for your child, together — that’s our commitment to you.

“And this is what I really love about teaching — seeing my students grow to enjoy Science and make progress in the subject.”

Mr Melvin Tan

“I've seen them grow in effort and hard work and to me as a teacher, that makes me really proud of them.”

Hiring the Best Educators

Thousands of applications are received but after a four-stage interview process, we only hire those with passion, talent and a keenness to make a difference.

Teachers Who Learn Every Day

From the nursery to junior college levels, our teachers have 270 hours of in-house training that ensures that they are experts in the subject they are teaching.

They learn the TLL teaching strategies, MOE examination guidelines, lesson planning and marking training among other topics.

Ongoing Evaluation and Support

Throughout the year, we help teachers keep improving and delivering better lessons through regular observations and evaluation.

Leaders from the Academic Network and the Teacher Quality Management department support teachers to ensure high standards in terms of knowledge, lesson delivery, rapport with students, ability to engage students and classroom management.

Always Ensuring Quality Education

Weekly meetings are held for teachers of each subject and level to discuss the upcoming week's curriculum. There is a discussion on how best to deliver the curriculum in order to keep students engaged and how to maximise learning in each lesson.

Teachers also work with the curriculum teams to share feedback on current and past lesson materials to ensure we are always making key improvements to the classroom experience.

Testimonials

"Without my teachers, I would never dare to dream of where I am today."

DENISE LAI
TLL Alumnus (P4 to JC2)

"A determined and kind teacher who never gave up on her students, Ms Shu truly inspired me and all my classmates to work harder and never give up. Without any expectation of recognition, Ms Shu has been our light when we were shrouded in darkness.

I can confidently say that Ms Shu is definitely the best teacher that I have ever met, and I believe that most of my success can be credited to her and TLL.

Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to TLL and my teachers for never giving up on me. Without them, I would never dare to dream of where I am today, and I would never have achieved the results I have today."
