Jem and Choa Chu Kang
An NUS graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Jiayi is passionate about driving meaningful change in the world. She found herself drawn to a career in education and joined The Learning Lab in November 2014 as a teacher where she specialised in teaching English to Early Years to Upper Primary, and GEP students. She also had a hand in developing curriculum for Upper Primary English. She was appointed as the Subject Head for the West centres in December 2017 before becoming the Academic Director of our Jem and Choa Chu Kang centres in December 2020.
I chose TLL because of the interesting curriculum. My child enjoys the lessons and looks forward to her classes.
She's excited to share with me what she learnt in class and I see that she likes to read storybooks now after attending TLL. I'm impressed by how TLL teachers could spark the love of learning in my child.

"My son did not do well in his final term test in P1. I decided to enroll him in a enrichment course. After speaking to a few friends, they had very good feedback on Learning lab. As there was a centre near my place (Westgate), I enrolled him there.
Initially he struggled in the first few sessions, as he was not familiar with the system and the workload was rather heavy. However, he enjoyed going for lessons as he was excited to learn about the different topics he was taught in class (e.g. about Koala bears, Korea, etc).
After almost 9 months at The Learning Lab, I can see improvement in his work. From failing his English test, he can get about 80/100 in his two tests in P2.
I am also glad that he looks forward to going to his class every week."
