A Trip Around the World with Cities of Discovery
Go on an adventure around the world at our USQ centre with our new TLL x Ripple Root digital mural.
Paying homage to The Learning Lab classrooms being named after these cities and landmarks, the digital mural – Cities of Discovery – envisions a landscape featuring vibrant destinations of learning and exploration, teeming with life and curious inquiry.
Spot familiar yet whimsical landmarks from around the world amidst playful interactions of shape and colour, painterly strokes and vibrant forms.

Hear from the Artists
The mural is proudly created in collaboration with TLL alumni, Estella Ng, and Liquan Liew of Ripple Root – an art duo renowned for creating collaborative, carefree works featuring nature and wildlife.
Go behind the scenes and hear from Ripple Root themselves as they share about their thoughts, inspiration and hopes for the digital mural.

At 3,776 meters above sea level, Mt. Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan. It is a very tough, gritty journey to the top, and not all of it is pleasant. But at the same time, there’s nothing else quite like it, and the feeling of being high above the clouds. I have been fortunate enough to make it to the summit seven times so far.

This was our first peek of what was to come as we entered the majestic Rocky Mountain range in Banff National Park, Canada. Driving in Canada in early spring was a breeze, and the views along the way were stunning, filled with snow-capped mountains and lined with evergreens. Every corner we turned to was breathtaking and we could not stop admiring the natural beauty that surrounded us as our car zoomed along the winding freeway past the colossal mountains.

Against this background of Es Vedrà was where I proposed to my fiancée in Ibiza, Spain. Being a Science Teacher, I couldn't help but mention Es Vedrà to express my deepest attraction to her when I proposed, as Es Vedrà is said to be one of the most magnetic spots on Earth. It was a nerve-racking but breath-taking moment!

I have always wanted to visit Paris, go to the Louvre, and see the Eiffel Tower. When I finally got to visit Paris this summer with my family, it was an eye-opening experience. Seeing these iconic landmarks in all their glory and visiting less-known ones like The Centre Pompidou opened my eyes to a world beyond what I have known. I will continue visiting new places and experiencing new cultures as it is invigorating.

Iceland
In June 2019, I went to Iceland and took a road trip around the island. As it was summer, the sun never fully set and it was bright throughout the day, even at midnight! The most memorable parts of the trip included seeing beautiful waterfalls, natural formations, black sand, icebergs (yes, even in summer!), and sleeping in a farmhouse beside cows and sheep. Being in Iceland felt like paradise, and I was constantly in awe of nature.

We're so proud of my 3-year-old boy’s achievement! He scaled more than 1,000 steps all by himself to almost reach the top of Fushimi Inari Taisha.
The rewards were just amazing – the stunning view of the city, plus a double mix ice cream cone for a taste of victory 💪
