Frequently Asked Questions About Our Special Programmes
How is Power Boost different from Primary 6 core English, Mathematics and Science programmes for an existing TLL student?
How is Power Boost different from the Intensive Revision Programmes in June or September?
The topics and/or practices covered in Power Boost are different from the topics and/or practices covered in Intensive Revision (English/Mathematics/Science) programmes in June and September.
Power Boost is a slightly longer programme that dives deep into selected the topic/components and students have more time to reflect on their performance while Intensive Revision is a short programme for students who want a quick review of some of the topics/components covered in the examinations.
For English Power Boost, each lesson focuses on a specific component (for example: Reading Comprehension) that the students will see in the PSLE. On top of reviewing the rules learnt, students will also learn tips and tricks in order to avoid making common mistakes. Students will also have time to reflect on their performance and receive personalised feedback to help them improve. On the other hand, Intensive Revision is a short programme that covers a range of components and serves as a form of extra practice for students.
For Mathematics Power Boost, the lessons are skill-based where students will learn how to apply the same skills across topics (for example: Spatial Visualisation skills is applied across topics such as Volume, Geometry, Area and Perimeter) whereas for Intensive Revision, the programmes cover topical revisions.
For Science Power Boost, key topics where students often struggled with are selected to be covered during each lesson whereas for Intensive Revision, it is more of a crash course for topics in Interactions and Systems (June Intensive Revision) and Cycles (September Intensive Revision) to be covered during each programme.
