About the Programme
The Advanced Computer Scientists programme develops students to the next level of programming. Students will now deep dive into app creation for both iOs and Android, develop the maker in them with our extensive micro:bit curriculum, and model advanced concepts across syntax-based programming to create tangible, real-world products.
Course Outline
In this research area, students will unlock the power of Python to solve real-world Math challenges with creative programming solutions. They'll dive into defining functions, mastering key concepts such as for loops, range(), lists, and utilising the Matplotlib module for eye-catching visualisations.
By the end of the module, students will have built an exciting range of mathematical programs. From a data analytics tool that calculates central tendency (eg: mean, median, and mode) while plotting dynamic charts, to a 3D shape calculator for computing perimeter, area, and volume. They'll even design a clever fraction simplifier using HCF/GCD that reduces fractions to their simplest form at the click of a button!
