Tackling the Transition

P3 Science Skills

As students step into Primary 3 and take Science for the first time, many of them may struggle with reading graphs, tables, and analysing flowcharts. This workshop will focus on teaching them the essential science process skills they need to succeed in the subject.

A firm grasp of Science process skills will boost your child's confidence and enable your child to focus on mastering Science content.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who can join this programme?

Students who are Primary 3 in 2024 are welcome to join this programme.

2. Can my child who is enrolled in the core programme sign up for this programme?

Yes. The materials for this programme are different from the core programme. The materials for this programme focus on skills, while the materials for core programme focus more on introducing content of different topics.

3. Will there be any homework?

There will be no homework. Students will be given time to try most questions as part of class work. For the remaining questions, students can try them at home and check their answers against the answer keys (refer to Q4) provided.

4. Will the worksheets be marked?

No. Answer keys will be provided at the end of the programme. Teachers will go through the answers in class. Due to the nature of the programme, our teachers will focus more on the teaching content, question analysis and answering methods/techniques. Hence, answer keys are provided to ensure that there is a model answer to check against after the program ends. This is unlike our core program where we do not typically provide answer keys.

5. If I can only make it for 1 day out of the 2 days, can I still attend the session? Are the contents covered related?

You can still attend the session as different skills are covered over the 2 days. Students do not need the knowledge of the first day for the second day. However, do note that the skills covered during the second session will be tougher than the first session.
