From first ideas to final cuts, they will share how stories are brought to life and what it takes to turn creativity into impactful work.

Introducing our brand-new TLL Career Discovery Series, where we talk to the top minds and experts in every field, giving our students the chance to learn from the very best. Through this series, we hope that our students will get inspired and discover future pathways to achieving their biggest dreams – beyond academic success.
In the first of the TLL Career Discovery Series, we delve into the intricate world of the legal profession. Join us on 28 November, 7PM to find out: What does it take to become a lawyer? What do law firms look out for when they hire, and what are the notable up-and-coming legal specialisations?
Gracing us with their presence and expertise are Dr. Haiyan Tang, Managing Partner of Quinn Emanuel’s Shanghai office, and Mr. Duncan Watson, Managing Partner of Quinn Emanuel’s Singapore office. Together in conversation, they will be giving us a glimpse of how they have carved out their niches in arbitration and litigation. The internationally acclaimed lawyers will also be shedding light on law school entry requirements and addressing some common misconceptions about the profession.

Our Speakers

Ms Li Lin Wee
Director, Writer & Producer at Bobby Buyong Films
Li Lin Wee is one of Singapore’s pioneering Gen X filmmakers, working across short- and long-form films, music videos, branded content and audio storytelling. Her works are known for their sensitivity and warmth, and have been featured on platforms such as Netflix (Asia), Disney+ (Asia), iTunes and Audible.
Her films have screened at prestigious international festivals including the Tribeca Film Festival (New York), Short Shorts Film Festival (Tokyo), Udine Far East Film Festival (Italy), Shanghai International Film Festival and the Hawaii International Film Festival. She has also received multiple accolades, including Best Director at the Singapore International Film Festival.
Beyond independent filmmaking, Li Lin has directed numerous commissioned works for Singapore government agencies, contributing to national storytelling through projects such as We Are Singapore (2018 National Day music video), Singapore Country (National Library Board) and Interwoven (Singapore Tourism Board). Her work reflects a deep commitment to telling meaningful, human-centred stories that capture Singapore’s cultural identity.

Ms Bambby Cheuk
Documentary & Short Film Producer, Resident Filmmaker at Cinemovement
Bambby Cheuk is a Singapore-based producer of film and multimedia works, specialising in documentary and socially driven storytelling. Her projects span a range of themes, including environmental, social and scientific issues, with works featured on platforms such as Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
Her recent productions include Children’s Day (Berlinale Shorts Competition 2025), Madame Margaux (Wildscreen Festival 2024) and Breaking News (Singapore International Film Festival 2022). Her films have also been showcased at major international festivals such as the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival, Edinburgh Docufest and DokuBaku.
An alumna of leading industry platforms including Berlinale EFM Doc Toolbox, Rotterdam Lab, EURODOC and Docs by the Sea, Bambby plays an active role in shaping the regional documentary landscape. She currently leads documentary development at Pōtocol and contributes to artist development initiatives at Cinemovement.
