What TLL’s Advanced Track Offers

  • Advanced Track classes follow the TLL curriculum, aligned with the MOE syllabus.

  • Every mainstream component and topic is covered, at a faster pace.

  • Content sits slightly above school level, with added challenge and discussion that sharpens critical thinking.

Inside Our Advanced Track Classes

In addition to the content covered in our mainstream classes, our Advanced Track classes include the following:

Higher-order problem solving featuring challenging questions to further stretch students and expose them to competition-style reasoning.

Challenging Science questions that require deeper levels of analysis, critical thinking and application of knowledge to deepen students’ understanding of scientific concepts.

Is Advanced Track suitable for your child?

Advanced Track classes are suitable if your child has been nominated to take part in school-based provisions or centre-based advanced modules.

Students who may enjoy the Advanced Track:
• Ask thoughtful questions and like to explore how and why things work

• Enjoy an unfamiliar problem once they have had time to try it

• Finish schoolwork comfortably and look for something more to think about

• Follow their own interests, in science, history, literature or technology

Every student's path is different. A conversation with the TLL team helps families decide whether the Advanced Track or a regular class suits a student best right now.

What is Changing?

From 2027, MOE is refreshing support for students with academic strengths.

Students stay in their schools: No more transfers.

More students are supported: Centre-based advanced modules cater to at least 2% of the cohort, up from the 1% of students identified for the GEP. School-based provisions grow from catering to the top 10% pupils in each cohort, from around 7% today.

Centre-based Advanced Modules: 15 regional centres run weekly after-school modules in English, Mathematics or Science, built for curiosity and separate from exam preparation.

Identification sees the whole student: A one-stage identification exercise in Primary 3, followed by on-going identification in Primary 4 and 5, based on teacher observations and schoolwork.

At TLL, lessons have always made room for curiosity, discussion and problems that ask students to think. Read the full HAL guide on the TLL blog.
