“A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language.”
– W.H. Auden

Literature can be difficult and baffling. Often, students find it challenging to translate their ideas into the kind of rigorous analysis required to score well under examination conditions.

Our Literature program aims to:

  • deepen our students’ understanding of both unseen and set texts;
  • focus intensively on close reading, analytical and essay-writing skills;
  • equip our students with the requisite skills to tackle a variety of frequently asked examination questions; and
  • help our students develop the technical vocabulary and presentation style needed to do well in the examinations.

At the end of the program, our students will be armed with critical reading skills, essay-writing know-how, and the literary exposure they need to do well in school.
