The Learning Lab will be sending a student delegation to the Harvard Model Congress (HMC) in Boston, Massachusetts in February 2016. This is part of an ongoing series of initiatives under our Future Leaders Program, an umbrella of landmark leadership and academic development events that support TLL students in their journey towards becoming future leaders.
The HMC is a highly-regarded student conference for top middle and high school students globally. Organized under the auspices of Harvard University, the HMC is a credible platform for our students to hone their analytical and presentation skills, as well as to sharpen their ability to learn smarter, present and communicate effectively, and excel in new, unprecedented scenarios. Participants get the chance to role-play US senators, Supreme Court judges, WTO officials, journalists, and even lobbyists, as they deliberate pertinent issues of the day.
The Learning Lab previously sent student delegations to participate in the HMC in 2010, 2011 and 2013. This year, students will participate in the Harvard Model Congress in Boston. Previous participants have described the HMC as a rewarding experience that helped them meet friends from all over the world, learn about university life, and broaden their horizons. We are confident that this year’s HMC will be an equally exhilarating learning journey.
