Doing well in the oral examination contributes towards achieving a good overall grade in the subject – the oral examination component can comprise up to 16% (for Primary 1 to 4 students) and 15% (for Primary 5 to 6 students) of your child's overall exam grade.

Primary 3 Oral Workshop

Primary 3 Orals Workshop

 

The Primary 3 Orals Workshop introduces the skills and techniques needed to ace the oral examination. Your child will learn how to articulate his or her words clearly and read with the appropriate expression and pacing to help them excel in the reading aloud section.

Your child will also go through the different types of stimuli he or she might see during the examination and learn the techniques to craft answers in a precise and an engaging manner.

During the two sessions, there will be one-to-one practices with the teacher who will give personalised feedback to each student. This is an ideal programme for students who would like to ace the oral examinations.  

Your child will:

  • receive workshops dedicated to teaching them how to score for the reading aloud and stimulus-based conversation sections. 
  • familiarise himself or herself with the requirements for the oral examinations.
  • have a chance to have one-to-one practices with the teacher and receive both written and verbal feedback.  


Reading Aloud

  • Your child will learn how to articulate words clearly, read with expression and at an appropriate pacing.
  • Reading practices will be provided.


Stimulus-Based Conversation

  • Your child will be exposed to a variety of different stimuli and learn to identify possible questions that might be tested. Techniques will be taught to help your child structure his or her answers.
  • Stimulus-based Practices and Scaffolded Responses will be provided.

Primary 6 Orals Workshop

 

The Primary 6 Orals Workshop seeks to give Primary 6 students a chance to learn the tips and tricks needed to ace the oral examination. Your child will learn how to sound out challenging sounds in the English Language as well as work on stresses and tone to help him or her excel in the reading aloud section.

Your child will also go through the different types of stimuli he oir she might see during the examination and learn the techniques to craft his or her answers in precise and engaging manner.
