Composition Excellence Programme

The ability to craft gripping climaxes and compelling narratives is a skill that needs to be nurtured and developed well.

Our Composition Excellence programme is a 5-week programme designed to help Primary 5 and Primary 6 students tackle the English Paper 1 more confidently while strengthening their writing skills and arsenal.

Programme Highlights

Composition is a critical success factor of the English exam. Dive deep into the techniques necessary to excel at this component with our specialised Composition Excellence programme that provides targeted and intensive practice.

Please take note that lessons for this programme will be conducted in fully physical classes.

Programme Focus

This programme focuses on Paper 1 (Writing) of the school and national examinations, with an emphasis on continuous writing. Students will complete writing exercises each week, which are supplemented with composition skill-based modules.

Besides a focus on plot planning, students will also learn how to structure the different parts of a narrative story. They will learn how to craft compelling introductions as well as develop gripping climaxes and satisfying conclusions for the narrative.

Students will be provided with scaffolded responses for all writing exercises. Students will then analyse these scaffolded responses for application of literary techniques, plot development and use of vivid descriptions and phrases.
